NCLA - Rough Around The Edges

The second and last NCLA polish I bought from NailMail recently. Rough Around The Edges. A rather unique polish, is it not? Underneath I have Color Club - Oooooo La La. Then I did 1-2 coats of RATE, depending on how many "shards" I managed to get on the nail in the first place. The glitter really do look like pieces of a broken...well, almost mirror anyway. I was surprised at how silvery the polish looked on top of white. I expected more whiteness than silverness. Maybe it will look different on top of another colour. I went with white underneath because I was afraid the base would be too white for any other colour. I'm actually not sure whether the base is misty white or not. Maybe it just looks that way in the bottle?
The formula wasn't perfect, a little thick. But it was okay anyway, I could handle it. So not a disaster.

NCLA - Hollywood Hills Hot Number

New brand! This is three coats on top of A England - Excalibur. Clear base, prismatic silver glitter in different sizes. I don't quite remember what it was I was expecting, but after unpacking this polish I felt slightly disappointed. It's very pretty, but it's not as unique as I wanted it to be. Another polish that came to mind is China Glaze - Techno.
But this is a nice polish. On the more expensive side perhaps. The glitter went on evenly though. That's always a plus.

China Glaze - QT

QT revisited. Two coats. Kinda lame holographic effect. I thought everyone was so excited about the OMG collection because the holo was good, very good. But this isn't very exciting. Nice colour though. Can holographic effects wear off? I mean, it's an old polish. I dunno.

Orly - Preamp

Omg, I love this so much!

  Two coats.

Seriously, this is so awesome. I am in love. Perfect pink shade and that shimmer is fantastic! These days I am very cautious with buying new pink polishes. I love pink, but I have so many already. It is very difficult to find a new pink that's unique. I am so glad I decided to buy this though. This is definitely unique and just absolutely lovely. Yay!

Orly - Mermaid Tale

Here's Mermaid Tale, two coats, on top of Zoya - Charla. Clear base, glitter in three different sizes. The glitter is mostly green with blue/turquoise tendencies. And a little prismatic too. I wasn't loving this combination of Charla and Mermaid Tale. Not sure why. Probably because they were too close in colour so the effect of the glitter got kinda lost.

China Glaze - Make A Spectacle

One coat on top of OPI - Sparrow Me The Drama. Make A Spectacle is a very dense polish for layering. Too sheer to be opaque on its own, but still very dense. Weird. The base is shimmery white and then it has prismatic hexagons in two different sizes. Looking at it in the bottle, I kinda start drooling. It sure looks delicate! On the nail it's less fun, just because it gets a little bit weird because it's so dense. Still pretty though.

China Glaze - Hello Gorgeous!

Two coats. Is this supposed to look like a textured polish? I don't think so. You will need a serious amount of top coat to make this look shiny and nice. Now it is very unshiny and unsparkly (I don't think those words exist, but you get what I mean). Also the pink shade is a little too pale. Too bad!

Orly - Sashay My Way

In an attempt to pretty Angel Wings up I put on some Sashay My Way. Not a great idea. Sashay My Way isn't opaque enough to cover anything up. This is two coats.
Sashay My Way (I like the name, it's fun to say) is golden, prismatic hexagons and bar glitter in a clear base. It's very pretty indeed, I just really need to layer it on top of something else.

China Glaze - Angel Wings

Two coats, I think. Also a layer of top coat, but the bad top coat from Picture Polish, so it didn't do anything for Angel Wings' grittyness. It looks like one of those textured polishes that are in right now. But I doubt it's supposed to look like that. Like this it doesn't sparkle at all. And the golden shade...it reminds me of the yellow shade mucus has when you've been sick. Charming!

Jindie Nails - Be Someone Cute

Two coats on top of pink. A lot going on here, isn't it? It's like the war of the ants. Pink, white and black matte glitter in a clear base. A fun polish, but a little too much for me actually.
